If we were friends and I told you I was building a house from the ground up, but I did not have any blueprints? You would probably check my temperature to be sure I was not ill. Not that building a house is a bad goal, but building a house without a blueprint is a terrible idea - much like deploying a horde of marketing tactics without a strategy.

On February 8, AMA Houston will host a special event to help marketing teams prepare for Crystal Awards judging. Our panelist of past winners from across the industry will give a packed room some insights into what sets stellar entries apart from the rest. Here are our top four takeaways from last year’s event:

2017 affected our members and fellow Houstonians in many unexpected ways. As a community of creatives over 1,000 strong, it’s up to us to lead our city into 2018. Last year, we saw the city come together under the rally cry of #Houston Strong. Our neighbors, friends and Houston’s finest set a higher expectation of community and excellence. During the 2018 Crystal Awards, were saying that from now on, it’s up to us to lead the charge by showing excellence in all we do. AMA Houston awarded Children’s Museum of Houston Marketer of the Year, Monday, December 4, at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Of 54 finalists announced earlier in November, Children’s Museum of Houston was also awarded the category win in Arts, and distinguished itself amongst 19 other finalists who were also awarded category wins during the award show.
