Learn from three speakers who will share their experiences on what they've done in their nonprofit business to grow the organization while controlling their spending.

Experience first-hand as you see a working plan from a small and large nonprofit organization.

Christian Brown, Houston Ballet, Director of Marketing & Public Relations

A Houston native, Mr. Brown attended college at Baylor University, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Music & Entertainment Marketing from the Hankamer School of Business. He then joined Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS), where he rose to become Assistant Director of Marketing and Sales. Currently, Mr. Brown works for Houston Ballet as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations overseeing all branding, marketing, ticketing and public relations efforts. Mr. Brown also works as a guest lecturer at University of Houston Downtown and Lone Star College.

Robin Tooms, Savage Brands, Strategy, Principal, Vice President

Robin Tooms was born with a genetic gift that gave her eight hands and arms that she currently conceals beneath brightly colored, coordinated sweater sets. On any given day you can find her utilizing those extra appendages to her advantage by simultaneously holding conference calls with clients, creating online marketing campaigns, supporting AIGA designers nation-wide, keeping AMA Houston in tip-top shape, working with management to set the direction of the company, updating the company blog and emailing numerous contacts, all while still managing to hit up an online Kate Spade sample sale. This refined multitasker works closely with clients to develop brand positioning, online marketing strategies, dynamic websites, engaging internal communications and social media campaigns. She is dedicated to staying on the forefront of innovative technologies that enhance communication and business. Robin is an alumna of University of Houston and holds an MBA from the Rice University Jones Graduate School of Business.

Sarah McDonner, ECHO Orchestra, Executive Director/ Founder

Sarah McDonner is the founder and Executive Director of ECHOrchestra. She will lead ECHO in their business operations and will also perform with the orchestra as one of their flute players. Sarah holds a B.A. in Music Performance from Denison University, Granville, OH and in 2010 she graduated with her M.M. in Flute Performance from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. Her flute mentors include Dr. Leslie Maaser, Dr. Wendy Mehne, David Whiteside, and Melissa Suhr. She teaches privately in the Houston area and freelances on the side. Sarah also is the co-owner of Yutumi, LLC, an all-natural, sustainable, and alternative product company based in Houston, TX. The company was launched in April of 2013 and you can find Yutumi, LLC products in local Houston stores.
