SUMMARY:Creating a Unified Identity: The Strategic Journey of Rebranding Sam Houston State University
DESCRIPTION:Join this session for an inside look at Sam Houston State University’s rebranding journey\, where the institution transformed its marketing and communications efforts to align with its evolving mission. The journey began by centralizing all marketing functions into one integrated division\, streamlining communication\, fan engagement\, digital analytics and creative design. \nWith a unified team in place\, the university launched a rebranding process that hadn’t been undertaken in over 15 years. Internal and external focus groups were engaged\, a comprehensive survey of over 400 stakeholders was conducted\, and both a competitive and communications audit were completed. This research formed the foundation for the new brand identity. \nThrough an inclusive process\, the university developed brand guidelines that informed immediate marketing materials\, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms. As the rebranding efforts continue\, the university is overhauling its website to further align with the new identity\, driving engagement and enrollment while reflecting the meaningful culture of the university community. \nThis session offers valuable insights for marketing and advertising executives facing similar rebranding challenges at other institutions. \nSpeaker\nJeff Harris\nChief Marketing Officer\, Sam Houston State University\n \nJeff Harris is an accomplished marketing and communications executive with a distinguished career spanning higher education\, government\, and advertising.
