We currently have an opening for an Account Director in our Houston office. Advertising agency experience working on BtoB accounts is required, and healthcare account experience would be a big plus. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Effectively directing the daily activities for a team of account supervisors, managers and coordinators (manage a team of three to five marketing professionals)

Building and growing client relationships

Building trust, credibility, and client referrals

Providing strategic and marketing leadership internally and externally

Ensuring agency and team activity is executed with efficiency that results in profit for the organization

Being familiar with the client's product, business culture, competition, and targets

Overseeing and contributing to internal teams in the development of strategic integrated marketing plans and strategies for assigned clients

Ensuring the client is getting the best possible results/end product from the entire agency team

Identifying, researching, and presenting additional business opportunities within assigned clients to executive level contacts

Negotiating with clients and agency staff concerning project details, schedules and deadlines

Ensuring team meets deadlines and prioritizes tasks

Reviewing all materials prior to presentation to client

Mentoring and developing team resources

Fostering teamwork and a constructive work environment

Understanding and teaching the agency’s financial and operating procedures and policies to team members

Reviewing/approving billing forecasts and monthly profit/loss analysis

Balancing client demands with participation in broader agency initiatives

Instills passion and accountability in all team members

Maintains a positive relationship between agency and client

Understands the components of integrated marketing strategies and applies them in making decisions

Recognizes client needs and generates innovative, creative, ideas and solutions

Ensures client satisfaction with agency support in achieving marketing objectives

Demonstrates a sense of ownership, pride, continuous improvement and urgency about tasks

Identifies and anticipates potential problems and finds alternative solutions

Recognizes project constraints from both the agency and client

Ability and experience to confidently take action or give direction to team members

Exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills

Reviews and provides input on maintaining satisfactory levels of gross income/profitability on assigned accounts

Optimizes agency productivity

Ensures the delivery of consistent superior work of team

Consistently shows initiative in ensuring a high level of service for our clients

Provides leadership within the agency on behalf of the client

Looks for opportunities to grow current client billings

Understands and is able to present Langrand and Company’s philosophies and capabilities
Interacts well with other departments within the organization

Provides timely and constructive reaction and responses to problems and questions

Organizes thoughts in a logical, clear, and concise manner

Able to direct and coordinate the activities of others; to motivate and inspire others; to assign and delegate work to others; to control and monitor the work of others

Positively and professionally represents the agency at all industry functions

REQUIREMENTS:

BS in Advertising, Marketing or related field

At least six-ten years of advertising agency experience

Ability to plan and strategize at a senior level

Demonstrated track record of client relationship development and service

Proven experience in managing teams working cross-functionally within an organization

Strong understanding of creative processes and techniques, including both traditional and digital

Strong interpersonal/communication skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; WMJ experience is a plus

Healthcare experience is a plus
