Foster Marketing is a full-service business-to-business marketing communications firm specializing in the oil and gas industry and with offices in Houston, Lafayette, La., and the UK. We are currently seeking to hire an Account Executive for our Houston office. In this role, you will be responsible for developing strategic marketing communications plans for clients and, once approved, carrying out the plan on a daily basis. You will also be responsible for gaining new business from existing clients as well as participating in new business presentations and will report to the Vice President of Account Services or President. The ideal candidate will have experience in growing accounts as well as managing the daily contact between the firm and his or her clients and the various professionals needed to complete client projects.


Performs situation surveys or marketing audits for current clients and becomes familiar with the client products and/or services and markets

Coordinates the development of client marketing communications plans, media plans, creative strategy and budgets based on needs and objectives

Develops Creative Briefs for each project and checks and approves creative materials before getting client approval

Effectively presents, sells and defends firm work and proposals to clients

Handles day-to-day activities for assigned clients, responding promptly to client communications, including calls, texts and emails

Provides leadership to the account team to ensure client projects are on schedule and within budget (quickly and accurately relays Client Change Orders to appropriate staff)

Coordinates client public relations efforts, including news releases, as well as coordinating with the Digital Strategist to ensure the synthesis of traditional/interactive marketing efforts

Provides a monthly Client Status Report (CSR) of client activities

Provides preliminary approval of client billing (responsible for ensuring profitability on accounts serviced)

Prepares media plans based on briefings with account and creative teams to ensure the most appropriate, effective media venue for each client

Actively seeks additional projects/new business from client contacts

Communicates Foster Marketing goals, philosophy and procedures to prospects and clients


Degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or other related fields

At least 3-5 years’ experience in marketing communications-related positions with an excellent client and account service record

Self-starter and team player, but able to work independently

Quick learner who can grasp client businesses

Strong marketing skills

Strong interpersonal communication skills

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Strong knowledge of digital, interactive and social media strategies

Consultative style with clients
