Stewart & Stevenson, a Kirby Corporation Company, is a manufacturing, power generation, rental solutions and aftermarket support provider for global oil and gas, marine, construction, transportation, government, mining and agricultural markets.

We are looking for a marketing copywriter to anchor an in-house B2B marketing team that provides shared services to several Kirby Corporation business units. In this role, you will be responsible for authoring and editing communications that support a diversity of sales, marketing and corporate initiatives and also serves as project manager for the in-house team. The ideal candidate is a writer first- part storyteller, part investigative reporter- who is passionate about the written word. To excel in this role, you must be able to translate complex subject matter from sales, engineering and product management into engaging content for customers, prospects, partners and employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Produce copy and content for a wide range of traditional and online B2B marketing deliverables including: brochures, websites, landing pages, direct mail, email, advertising, case studies, presentations, social media, two company magazines and more.

Research and distill technical and industry insight to create concise, easy to understand B2B content.

Act as project manager for our in-house team, overseeing the intake, creation, coordination, approval and on-time delivery of marketing projects.

Scour the organization for differentiators and customer stories that form the basis of sales materials, case studies and blog and social media posts.

REQUIREMENTS:

Four to ten years related experience

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism or Creative Writing

Must be tenacious, self-motivated and proactive

5+ years of marketing communications and copywriting experience in a corporate environment or in-house team in oil and gas, power generation or related field

Exceptional verbal and written communications skills

Professional portfolio showcasing B2B project experience is essential. See other requirements for details.

Computer Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Able to provide writing examples (pdf’s or links to online portfolio).

Able to provide short and long form B2B projects such as case studies, blogs, sales collateral, marketing campaigns (no email) and magazine articles are preferred
