We are currently seeking to hire a Communications and Marketing Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for providing all communications and marketing support for McDermott’s North, Central and South America Area (NCSA). This includes developing communications and messaging strategies, and formulating and implementing plans based on these strategies. Key interfaces of the group include senior management, business development, as well as technical groups and functional management.

This role has a matrixed reporting structure, reporting functionally to the Sr. Director of Global Communications and Marketing and operationally to the Sr. Vice President of NCSA. The successful candidate will be a versatile professional, possessing a demonstrated blend of internal and external communications and marketing experience.


Manage and execute the Area’s public relations and marketing strategy with appropriate metrics and goals to ensure that the program is generating awareness for McDermott and its projects and services, as well as developing increased awareness around the company’s leadership in the target market segments

Manage Area internal communications strategy and execution; building and maintaining effective/cooperative working relationships with key members of the Area management and functional leadership; as well as writing and editing internal communications

Lead the internal document approval processes for the Area, including drafting announcements and securing all necessary approvals

Seek and identify opportunities to leverage the company’s Intranet and all other internal communications tactics to drive employee engagement, satisfaction and productivity

Develop networks throughout the Area to capture important company news and information, develop content and/or output, and filter through corporate, if applicable, such as, but not limited to: Local news; Corporate headlines; Press releases; Announcements; Presentations, technical articles, conference papers; and Marketing collateral

Serve as the contact point for Area marketing requests, lead messaging development appropriate to product line and/or location

Provide support to Area events such as executive meetings, visits, presentations, etc.

Handle customer requests such as approval of marketing and communication materials for internal or external release

Provide support for other Area-driven activities such as, volunteer/charity/ community events, recruitment campaigns, internal messaging campaigns, etc.


Minimum of 10 years of experience in Communications and Marketing

Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field

Experience in oil & gas industry is preferred

Experience working in a public relations firm a bonus

Excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Bachelor’s degree in Communications or other related area (minimum of 10 years of experience)

Proven ability to execute external and internal communications strategies that are aligned with business goals and objectives

Experience in news writing, speechwriting, employee communications and proofreading ability

Experience working in a publicly-traded company is preferred

Able to travel 25 % of the time
