We are currently seeking to hire a Creative Services Director. In this role, you will implement and utilize highly creative vision and talents to oversee all creative output. You will lead a team of innovative designers, in collaboration with our writing, digital, marketing, and client services teams, to produce to provide exceptional messaging, products, innovative designs for integrated, multi-platform use across McDermott’s digital, and print media to both internal and external customers. The selected candidate will provide leadership to the team and be the go-to resource for all creative ideas and direction. In addition, you will be able to unify and lead the department as a company resource.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure all creative materials are aligned with the overall visual identity and strategic goals

Oversee the creative workflow process keeping it current and efficient

Develop and manage creative ideas and concepts

Prepare comprehensive creative strategies which result in desired outcomes for the client utilizing creative brief direction, offered from Marketing and Communication team members, internal clients, and the design team

Partner with Marketing, Corporate Communications, Events and other internal departments to develop, enhance and implement efficient processes and procedures which produce a quality product

Assist when needed in assigning and scheduling projects to appropriate individuals; prioritize and direct workloads; manage product workflow

Provide guidance and creative direction to designers

Prioritize, track, handle and maintain records of elements, costs, and time schedules for multiple projects.

Manage and assist team to meet deadlines

Manage hardware and software resources for department; stay current on latest technology

Build strong relationships with clients and other departmental teams

Assist in maintaining and updating materials and presentations for client touch meetings

Oversee final assembly of produced projects into completed design to ship to client for final approval. i.e. Annual Report

Mentor and coach design team to enhance their level of performance and develop their skills

Conduct yearly performance evaluations and provide performance feedback on a timely basis.

Provide creative direction, oversee, update and maintain company website

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of ten years of design experience, including a minimum of three years of design for the Web and digital media

Minimum of 5 years managing and leading a team of designers

Experience as a Graphic Artist and Illustrator

Demonstrated expertise with visual identity and branding

Knowledge of related technologies, such as collaborative workflow systems, digital asset and content management tools i.e. Asana

Knowledge of applicable intellectual property, image permissions, copyright and trademark requirements

Bachelor’s in visual design, digital arts or a related field (equivalent professional experience will be considered)

Strong management and leadership abilities

Able to motivate others; give clear and specific instructions to team and to others

Strong persuasion and presentation skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Proven success in fast paced environment with multi-tasking skills; well organized

Proficient in Creative InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Knowledgeable with Creative Cloud suit
