The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is currently seeking to hire a Digital Content Specialist. In this role you will manage a variety of projects for METRO’s web properties to promote various services and campaigns. This includes but is not limited to administrative support for website content updates, collaboration with marketing team members and internal clients on mobile-first visual storytelling, coordination of email marketing communication through METRO’s CRM and digital copywriting. The selected candidate will perform duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures. The salary range for this role is: $54,935 – $68,916.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with updates to METRO enterprise website using Sitefinity content management system
Identifies and prioritizes key audience messages developed with cross-functional stakeholders to support a world-class user experience with targeted, compelling website content
Provides engaging, concise copywriting consistent with brand voice, tailored to specific audience segments
Works with CRM software on database management and email communication for a variety of customer segments
Collaborates with staff photographer to secure images that support mobile-first visual storytelling on METRO’s owned-media digital platforms
Assists with organizing digital assets for future use by team members
Measures the effectiveness of content and optimization tactics using various analytics, tools and programs
Provides input and guidance on future updates to messaging and user experience design within METRO’s mobile applications
Remains on call 24/7/365, including emergency situations (e.g., inclement weather events)
Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers
Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
Minimum two (2) years of experience with website content management systems, copywriting, and accessibility compliance software
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple websites and coordinate multiple projects with a variety of departments, vendors and contractors
Proficiency with website content management systems (Sitefinity is a plus), digital asset management platforms, CRM software and digital analytics tools
Strong working knowledge and understanding of UX and responsive design principles and browser compatibility issues
Superb communication, copywriting and project management skills
Proficient in a Windows environment (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
Familiarity with usability standards set forth in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Best Practices for Website Accessibility for State and Local Governments and the latest version of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus
Excellent communications (written and verbal), interpersonal and relationship building skills
Able to comply with drug testing before employment and further drug and/or alcohol testing throughout their employment
