The Fort Bend History Association is currently seeking to hire a Director of Marketing and Publicity. In this role, you will work as a team player with other admin and museum staff to plan, implement and achieve portions of our Association’s Strategic Plan goals and objectives relevant to marketing and communication. You will provide leadership, management, and implementation to successfully market our programs, group tours, site rentals, and special events. You will be responsible for all verbal and written promotional materials, ads, media contacts and other necessary communication avenues, including but not limited to social media outlets, print media, and radio/TV media. The selected candidate will ensure that the important information concerning our Association is professionally presented to the FBHA membership and larger community in a timely and consistent manner. The proposed pay scale is $60,000 with benefits.


Ensure adherence to brand guidelines and messaging

Plan and coordinate social media posts, respond to inquiries, and evaluate analytics

Ensure that websites are up-to-date, manage domains,  and evaluate analytics

Coordinate press releases, media list, ads, e-newsletters, and media coverage/site visits

Plan and produce quarterly member newsletter (Texian Gazette)

Maintain outreach calendar, coordinate event attendance, cultivate tourism partners, develop brand ambassador committee

Create and deliver strategic advertising plan

Manage online and printed collateral for the Association

Attend FBHA events, take photos/videos, develop/maintain surveys


Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public communications, journalism or related field

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proven skills in graphic design, public relations, and budgetary compliance

High degree of creativity, initiative, and attention to detail

Ability to multi-task and set priorities

Excellent computer skills

Proficient with MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative, web, and social media
