Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union is currently seeking to hire an Event Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of the marketing event plan for the Credit Union. The selected candidate will perform a variety of creative and support duties related to the marketing events and presentations function within the Credit Union.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate special events and implementation as required for proper execution of each event (i.e., Annual Meeting, Teacher of the Year, Christmas Party, Picnic, Chamber events, school orientations)
Create and manage all outside Credit Union events and activities (seminars, financial literacy, reality fairs)
Identify upcoming opportunities, latest trends for events, and fresh approaches
Maintain the special events inventory and related supplies, as well as customized and personalized gift items
Maintain a calendar of BVSCU community events and coordinates BVSCU employee participation
Public speaking representative for events of all sizes (up to 200+) representing the Credit Union
Maintain and report volunteer hours
Develops and maintains relationships with key leaders within the business community and school districts
Monitor community trends and recommend additions to and/or changes to the Community Events calendar
Attend school and community functions with MDRs as needed
Assist with the continued development of our financial literacy program, as needed (interactive presentations, home buying, reality fair etc.)
Coordinate youth club activities
Assist with report card cover/calendar deliveries as needed
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Event planning or related public speaking experience is preferred
Possess a positive attitude, and problem-solving orientation, always exhibiting good judgement and discretion
Initiative to pursue goals and complete tasks
High level of diplomacy and the ability to remain composed in stressful situations
Ability to manage projects through to completion
Proficient with problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to work regular full-time hours, with flexibility in schedule for early mornings, evenings and some weekends
Ability to work on or off site at designated location
Ability to operate a motor vehicle for job related travel
Hold a valid Texas driver’s license
Ability to speak to groups of all sizes in a professional and precise manner
Ability to communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy and model exemplary member service
Proficient in Excel
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications
Must be bondable
