Headquartered in Houston near Kirby and West Alabama, the Legacy Funeral Group is currently seeking to hire a talented Graphic Designer with 2-3+ plus years of experience to our advertising team. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Marketing & Advertising and your work will make a difference in people’s lives. It will stretch across all our brands and be seen by thousands of customers. You will have a lot of creative flexibility and innovative approaches are welcome. Develop print and web graphics around a handful of any events customized to locations
Create new logos from concept to final output
Create graphic templates that can be used from one location to another
Develop creative for annual calendar of temporary Website banners and Facebook graphics
Develop new local newspaper ads for locations
Develop brochures, mailers, outdoor advertising as needed
Create animated GIFs from time to time
Willing to take direction and run with it while at the same time knowing when to ask questions
Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, color, print and web platforms
Positive, can-do spirit (ability to find solutions, not excuses)
Self-motivated contributor as well as a team player (culture is a big part of our organization)
Ability to work with video editor to develop short videos for use on Facebook pages
Able to repurpose creative from years past and give it new life
Ability to work with print production partners to bring jobs to completion
Good listener and communicator both in writing and verbally
Able to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
Keen eye for aesthetics and details
Time management and the ability to meet deadlines
Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
Willing to work on projects outside or your direct responsibilities as required.
Open to constructive feedback
Ability to write simple copy is a plus
Able to work occasionally after hours or on weekends if requested
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (graphic design or equivalent work experience- preferably with an in-house creative team, creative agency, or design team)
Experience working with Acrobat and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
Experience with Adobe After Effects is a plus
Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams is a plus
Able to travel occasionally to visit clients in order to learn more about the business from our clients’ perspective
