Our Corporate Marketing Team is currently seeking to hire an Internal Communications Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing communications strategies and plans that support projects, initiatives and the overall strategy of ABS, and that actively engage internal audiences.
Reporting to the Director of Internal Communications, you will play a critical role in global employee communications and change management initiatives. The selected candidate will be able to engage and influence leaders at all levels in the organization and be self-motivated, resourceful and have strong communication skills. You will work a hybrid schedule with three (3) days in corporate office located in Spring, and two (2) days being remote-work days.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a trusted communications advisor to leaders in the organization to facilitate change efforts within assigned business units or departments
Plan, research, develop and deliver key strategic messages for corporate business units, such as Survey, Operations, Business Development, HSQE, Human Resources, Finance, Legal and Compliance
Ensure communication strategy is consistent and reflects the organization’s strategic vision
Assist the Director, Internal Communications in the development of short- and long-term employee communications strategies and the content calendar
Develop targeted messages and create presentations, talking points, FAQs and other supporting collateral to support change management for new initiatives
Liaises with global counterparts in regional locations to coordinate content and generate success stories, employee profiles and spotlights on strategic initiatives
Support and develop content for the intranet and biweekly e-newsletter as required
Leverage employee feedback channels and quantitative metrics to recommend improvements in communications channels and approach
Assist Director, Internal Communications with crisis management
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or related discipline is preferred
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in corporate or business internal communications experience, leading support for projects and initiatives and advising leaders and subject matter experts
Sound working knowledge of all elements within MS Office is essential
Ability to write, edit, and produce content for internal communications
Ability to translate subject matter messaging into relatable, understandable key messages that every level of employee can understand
Strong interpersonal and team skills
Ability to motivate others, and to work effectively with all levels of management
Able to plan, organize and coordinate in a global organizational environment
Ability to assume a high level of individual responsibility
Professional creativity and flexibility
Experience implementing and measuring messaging/programs on a global basis is preferred
Experience creating and executing strategic internal communication plans and advising leaders is a plus
Strong writing and editing experience are preferred
Excellent communication and project management skills is preferred
Marine, Oil and Gas or Energy industry experience is helpful
Proven track record of nurturing strong relationships with manager, peers, team, key stakeholders and customers is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple priorities within demanding timeframes is preferred
