The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is currently seeking to hire a Marketing Assistant. In this role, you will support the efficiency of the marketing department at The Pavilion, working with various members of the Marketing Department to keep day-to-day operations on track. Your overall goals will be to brand The Pavilion as a leader in the arts community and to further promote the venue’s mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Respond to all contact emails and resolve all customer feedback sent through Medallia
Create and assist in the distribution of information to the media in the form of press releases, announcements, calendar listings, public service announcements, event updates, etc.
Actively pitch feature stories to the media, including but not limited to local, regional and national publications as well as garner interest and maintain relationships with local bloggers and reviewers to propel word of mouth marketing
Monitor online discussion about The Pavilion and manage conversation and perception to maintain brand and image integrity while remaining relevant and engaging
Assist in the creation of a social media content calendar
Send timely, correct and engaging announcement, pre-sale and day of show emails
Submit accurate and up-to-date Pavilion events to local online calendars and listings
Update portions of the website, including new events, promo blocks, ticket price updates and new information as it becomes available
Assist with the planning, production and implementation of educational outreach programs, performing arts events and special activations as needed
Provide social media coverage and back-up photography support for Live Nation and performing arts events
Coordinate and market group seating reservations at performing arts events.
Assist with the design and distribution of various collateral pieces including flyers, brochures, advertisements, show schedules, etc.
Assist with content creation and design for various publications/outlets including CenterStage newsletter, programs, social media updates, blog posts, etc.
Manages inventory of marketing materials including signage, promotional items, etc.
Coordinate Dressing Room photos for artists playing at The Pavilion
Support the department through various administrative tasks including creation/tracking of disbursements, information packet assembly, bulk mailings, etc.
Assist with event production at the annual Children’s Festival
REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with AP style a plus
Capable of working well with the public and projecting a positive image
Strong writing and editing skills
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with local media outlets
Knowledge of utilizing professional camera equipment
Capable of working under deadlines
Ability to work under pressure
Able to work long, irregular hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays
Experienced event planning and management skills required
Ability to be flexible in working with multiple departments in a team environment
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
1-2 years of experience with public relations, advertising and/or marketing (can be part-time internships)
Working knowledge of the following programs: Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, & HTML
