Stephen F. Austin State University is currently seeking to hire a Marketing Lecturer. In this role, you will primarily teach Personal Selling (Sales) and Principles of Marketing. You may be assigned or have the option to pick up other marketing sections as department needs arise.
Lecturers maintain Instructional Practitioner or Scholarly Practitioner AACSB qualification. The ability to contribute to a positive collegial work environment in the department, college, and university is also expected along with a strong orientation to recruiting, retaining, and mentoring students, as well as program development. Earned M.B.A., master’s in marketing, or higher degree, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in marketing coursework is required. Sales experience is also required.
Performs an equivalent of eight teaching units of work during the regular academic year; reduction of teaching load through reassignment of duties is possible under certain circumstances.
May conduct supplemental instructional activities such as independent studies, internships and advising.
Provides services to the university and the profession and engages in research/scholarly/creative activities.
May supervise the work of student and/or graduate assistants.
May serve on departmental, college and university committees.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and practical experience in the field in which the individual will be teaching.
Ability to effectively teach undergraduate and/or graduate students.
Able to work within a collaborative faculty environment.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Able to work effectively and patiently with students.
Master’s degree in the field in which the individual will be teaching is required.
