LaPorte CPAs and Business Advisors, one of the region's fastest growing and respected CPA firms. We are currently seeking to hire a dynamic individual to join our team as a Proposal/Business Writer in our Marketing Department. In this role, you will be a valued member of our marketing team and you will manage a variety of functions, which are important to the marketing department, the firm, and its affiliated companies. This role will is based in either our Houston or Metairie, Louisiana office. The selected candidate will report to the Senior Marketing Manager and Chief Marketing Officer and you will receive a competitive salary and benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Meet with appropriate personnel to obtain necessary information

Research prospects, as needed

In PowerPoint or Word, write, assemble and edit proposals

Create unique and/or prospect-focused content in response to individual situations/requests

Manage information databases used for proposal creation

Manage the majority of the written proposal process

Update proposal report for monthly submission to management

Stay apprised of emerging accounting-related topics

Using blog questionnaire submissions and supplied background information, compose blogs on various topics for use on the website, as backflap articles and for eblasts

Synthesize complex issues and translate industry lingo/jargon into easily understood articles

Proofread and edit content written by others when applicable

Compose press releases for applicable media outlets

Coordinate with newly hired and/or promoted team members to update or create biographies

Create new content for web pages, as needed

Create or make content changes to marketing collateral

Write, review and/or edit content for nominations and entry submissions, as needed

Write content for events (invitations, speeches, follow-up communications, etc.)

Write content for letters to clients, Centers of Influence, and business prospects

Assist with major marketing department projects or events, as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in journalism, English, public relations, marketing, business or related field required

Three to five years of professional writing experience (education and/or verifiable skills may be considered for substitution)

Previous experience in professional services (accounting, legal, etc.), proposal/business writing, is desired

Strong attention to detail and deadline driven; must be able to multi-task and excel in a diverse and fast-paced atmosphere with short timelines and multiple priorities

Knowledge of AP style

Ideally, would have experience with keyword research as it relates to SEO performance

Excellent grammar

Superb verbal and written communication skills

Great at strategic thinking

Great technology skills (computer, printer/copier, phone, etc.)

Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills for gathering input from pursuit team members and executive management

Ability to manage people, processes, and priorities in order to meet established deadlines

Able to use various computer programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; InDesign a plus

Ability to learn new software packages, as necessary

Able to provide references, which will be verified
