Headquartered in Houston near Kirby and West Alabama, the Legacy Funeral Group is currently seeking to hire a talented Social Media Specialist to join our in-house marketing and advertising team.  In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Marketing and Advertising and your work will make a difference in people’s lives. It will stretch across all our brands and be seen by thousands of customers.  You will have a lot of autonomy in your role with support always nearby to guide and steer and lend a helping hand. This role combines digital marketing with creativity and organizational skills. The selected candidate will be primarily focused on Facebook (as this is the Social Media platform most widely used by our target demographic). However, you are always on the lookout for new digital channels to reach this audience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, manage and schedule monthly Facebook calendar

Periodically research topics for posts

Post employee birthdays on local Facebook pages

Schedule Lead-Generation Facebook ads

Set up Facebook event Pages

Schedule boosted posts for events

Monitor social media for complaints and concerns and address as directed

Troubleshoot accessibility issues for company users and help resolve

Stay abreast of Facebook / Meta Guide backend changes

Grasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively

REQUIREMENTS:

Motivated self-starter

Ability to represent the agency on client conference calls and/or client meetings

Teamwork and collaboration combined with the ability to multitask and organize

Ability to juggle an assortment of deliverables with competing deadlines and limited resources

Excellent communication skills

Time-management, an eye for detail and problem-solving skills

Willingness and ability to work more than 40 hours per week when workload necessitates

Bachelors or Associate degree in Marketing, New media, (or equivalent work experience)

Working knowledge of Canva

Knowledge of Vendasta Reputation Management software is preferred but can be learned

Knowledge of Function Point Project Management Software is preferred  but can be learned

Able to travel occasionally to visit clients and learn more about the business from our clients’ perspective
