Pierpont Communications’ Houston office is seeking an executive level public relations professional with 10+ years of experience. Specifically, we need expertise in managing corporate communications initiatives that include: thought leadership programming and specifically generating tier-one earned media, crisis communications planning, training and response, marcom programs, digital & social media campaigns. Most importantly this expertise is underpinned by strong business savvy. The ideal candidate for this role will be an entrepreneurial individual with strong business development and management skills who is networked within the Houston metro-area. You will develop, manage, execute and measure strategies and tactics for clients, develop and manage budgets and teams. The selected candidate will have proven ability to successfully deploy large-scale communications campaigns.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and execute business development and growth for agency

Manage senior level client relationships and have regular exposure to client senior management

Create, lead, manage and execute client strategies and tactics

Manage and motivate direct reports

Responsible for employee reviews and identifying new hires

Budget and P& L responsibility, basic business financial knowledge

Manage multi-industry client portfolio and teams (healthcare organizations, financial services, chemical manufacturing, real estate development, etc.)

Manage and grow careers of 1-4 direct reports

Work across our network of offices with fellow leadership teams to secure new business, service integrated accounts and regularly add value

Assist in integrating teams and clients in the event of an acquisition

Representing the firm in the marketplace, participating on Boards, industry groups, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

10+ years Public Relations and/or corporate communications experience

Communications or Public Relations experience on the agency side required

Experience making high-level presentations to C-level marketing professionals

Extensive experience writing high-level strategic proposals, PR/communications plans and the ability to sell those plans through to C-level

Experienced in developing and executing communications and public relations strategy and integrated marketing campaigns

Experienced in execution and ROI

Established record of accomplishing successful results for clients

Excellent client and account service record

Experience interacting with C-Suite

Agency management experience

Aggressive producer and self-starter

Excellent entrepreneurial business skills

Strong business acumen with the ability to understand clients’ core business

Problem solver who can consistently meet deadlines

Strong interpersonal communication skills

Excellent verbal/written communication skills

Strong marketing skills

Strong, current knowledge of digital, interactive and social media strategies and tactics

Consultative style with clients

Excellent management and people skills

Excellent client and account service record

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or other related fields.

MBA advanced degree is preferred
