San Jacinto College is seeking to hire a Web Content Manager. In this role, you will understand and use marketing personas to build and execute web content strategies aligned with our goals. In addition, you will manage projects that include complete content redesigns and new webpages, crafting content, and working with stakeholders in a collaborative environment. Identify new content opportunities to incorporate into the web.
Create and manage editorial calendar (use HTML5 and CSS3 skills as needed to control page layout)
Organize and oversee the digital / web content workflow and lead team of content producers. Review and edit content
Create and edit images and digital graphics for website
Use a self-service application to manage SEO to address technical issues, ranking drop, keyword research, link building, user experience, and mobile experience
Manage quality assurance issues, including broken links, misspellings, readability, inconsistencies, crawl errors, unused files and pages, page inventory, sitemap etc.
Manage accessibility issues that do not conform to the latest WCAG success criteria.
Create and manage landing pages in customer relationship management system (CRM) that support advertising and outreach.
Monitor website traffic to better target, reach, and serve college audiences.
Minimum six years of professional work experience as a writer/editor in web, marketing, or communications
Minimum two years of experience developing and executing web content strategies
Minimum two years of experience with SEO and keyword research and implementing SEO in the content creation process
Professional working experience with an enterprise level CMS and intermediate knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
Experience developing and leading web editorial projects, while also working collaboratively with people across teams and departments to achieve goals
Project management experience in order to manage personnel and meet time-sensitive dynamic deadlines
Experience or certification in the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
Experience with multi-channel media tools and using these communication channels to cross promote content
Experience using personas to develop web content; experience using Google Analytics, market research, social media profiles, surveys, interviews, and A/B testing to develop user personas
Experience using website analytics to glean data to better target, reach, and serve target audiences and adapting web content to reach goals and improve outcomes
Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and/or other design software to create digital graphics and edit images
Experience and understanding of UI/UX design to recognize website elements that are user-friendly, and why
