NOV-APL, founded in 1993, is one of the world’s leading providers of innovative technologies for offshore oil and gas production and transfer. In an ever-changing world, it is imperative for companies to stay current and ahead of the game! At NOV-APL, we have a strong group of individuals making up our Business Development Department, who’s main task is to do exactly that! We are now looking for an equally strong individual to join this group of 10 people as Area Sales Manager – Americas and help NOV-APL grow its market share by supporting its sales efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain good relationships with existing clients
- Identify potential new clients and build business relationships with them
- Ensure prequalification of NOV-APL and ensure NOV-APL is on the bidders list
- Recommend if a bid will be issued or if NOV-APL shall decline to bid
- Involve the Technology Department as necessary to do the first conceptual review (decide on important issues such as type of system, definition of new development etc.)
- Propose commercial strategy for active tenders
- Request the assistance of a Proposal Manager
- Ensure an NDA between NOV-APL and the Client is established, as and when required
- Involve the Technology Department if a demand requires a new technology (based on clients’ feedback)
- Encourage innovation within NOV-APL
- Participate in NOV cross-business unit sales initiatives as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (Business / Economics / Engineering)
- Few years of experience with engineering or project management, a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Sales/Business Development in the Offshore Oil/Gas, Energy or Renewable/Low-Carbon Industries
- Excellent understanding of the technical, contractual, and commercial aspects of Offshore Technology,
- Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation contracts
- Independent, structured, and analytical skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to co-ordinate and manage negotiations in a solution-oriented and constructive fashion
- Able to transform a problem into a challenge/solution
- Good inter-personal and communications (written and verbal) skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
