Do you love social media? Do you have a positive track record in social media marketing? If so, we are currently seeking to hire an Assistant Director of Marketing and Communication. In this role, you will be all things social, and you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing our official social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), Threads and TikTok). Your primary goal will be to enhance brand awareness, engage the target audience and drive traffic and conversions through various social media platforms organically. You will work closely with the marketing team and other relevant stakeholders to create and execute compelling social media campaigns that align with the company’s overall marketing objectives.
In addition, you will be passionate about social media and have a track record of building social media communities and creating social media content that supports brand development and engagement. You will be both creative and analytical, able to come up with innovative ideas, and measure their impact. Furthermore, you will enjoy working collaboratively with a team, be great at building relationships cross-functionally and be interested in marketing and communication. Overall, you will be a social media superstar who can drive impactful campaigns organically.
The annual hiring salary range for this role is $74,600 to $85,000. The selected candidate is expected to be in-person on campus, but you can work remotely on occasion as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute social media strategies that support our brand identity, goals and target audience
- Conduct research and stay updated on social media trends, platform updates and emerging technologies to ensure the organization’s social media presence remains innovative and relevant
- Develop engaging, creative, and relevant content for various social media channels, including text, images, videos, and infographics that are in line with the brand standards
- Curate user-generated content from students, alumni, and others to foster community engagement and brand advocacy
- Manage and maintain all social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms
- Schedule and publish content, ensuring consistent posting frequency and optimal timing for maximum reach and engagement
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries on social media channels promptly and in a professional manner
- Foster a positive and interactive community by engaging with followers, addressing concerns, and providing exceptional support
- Use social media analytics tools to track and analyze key performance metrics, such as reach, engagement, click-through rates, and conversions
- Generate regular reports on social media performance and use data-driven insights to optimize strategies and improve results
- Support team, as needed, with paid social media advertising campaigns to drive brand awareness and consideration
- Help monitor ad performance and provide reporting as needed
- Collaborate with the marketing, design, and content teams to align social media efforts with broader marketing campaigns
- Coordinate with students, alumni, and other key stakeholders to amplify brand presence and reach
- Performs all other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5 years of social media experience
- Excellent writing and analytical skills
- Familiar with social media platforms, Sprout, content management systems such as Drupal and creative tools like Adobe and Photoshop
- Understands current and future social media trends
- Organized and creative
- Demonstrated problem solver with strong communication skills
- Ability to take direction and work to meet expected deadlines and schedules
- Demonstrated team player
