Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is the only blood provider to Houston and its surrounding communities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are one of the largest community blood centers in the United States, serving 170 hospitals and healthcare facilities in a 26-county area, including the largest medical center in the world, Texas Medical Center. Our facilities include Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center East Texas as well as Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center of Brazos Valley.

We are currently seeking to hire a technically astute and highly talented Community Development Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will report to the Marketing Director and you will be responsible for securing promotional partnerships, growing the media blood drive program, expanding community outreach, and organizing events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Secure partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising for monthly promotions
- Promote the Commit for Life programs and marketing initiatives
- Grow Media Blood Drive program by working with media partners to strategize on the recruitment and marketing plan for each media drive
- Actively attend community presentations, outreach meetings, and partnership events to increase awareness and collaborative opportunities in the community
- Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities
- Collaborate with Donor Recruitment and NDC Operations to ensure media drives and promotions are handled properly
- Communicate the details of each partnership and/or promotion with donor facing departments
- Oversee the Marketing collateral at Neighborhood Donor Centers, ensuring all facilities maintain the brand standards by installing supporting signage, as scheduled
- Ensure the integrity of the corporate brand is maintained throughout all donor-facing marketing
- Assist with on-site donor recruitment efforts
- Ensure safe care to donors, patients, staff, and visitors; adhere to all Blood Center policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service
- Enforces The Blood Center’s policies on EEO and Safety/Health
- Support with other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or Communications from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent education and experience in marketing, communication, public relations, or a related field
- Preferred experience of 2-5 years within non-profit fundraising or outreach activities
- Considerable knowledge of functions, activities, requirements, procedures, objectives and regulations of event planning and community engagement
- Ability to identify opportunities for growth and incremental opportunities with partners
- Working knowledge of social media platforms
- Possess strong written and verbal skills; ability to address audiences; bi-lingual is a plus
- Strong knowledge of local and state governmental issues as it relates to the impact on the blood banking industry, non-profit community involvement, donations, etc.
- Superior communication skills, both internal and client-facing
- Strong relationship management, organizational and project management skills
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and acceptable driving record (must have reliable transportation to transport self to various donor and group sites)
