RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the holistic vision of multiple Product Managers, including coaching on organization, presentation, and prioritization (this includes multiple product roadmaps, understanding of the customer, the functional product, and the competitive landscape)
  • Leverage digital capabilities and customer insights to serve our customers and drive sales Identify, prioritize, and analyze the largest digital opportunities, working with your team members to capitalize on identified opportunities
  • Participate in business reviews, communicate, and present across all levels of the organization and support cross-functional product teams
  • Help your team members generate new ideas for growth and problem solving
  • Monitor and coach team members on how to lead agile scrum teams effectively and efficiently, including adjusting or creating new processes when needed
  • Deliver sales and profitability for Academy.com and Academy Sports + Outdoors Overall Business
  • Create a cross-functional environment for team members that champion relationships with stakeholders to promote collaboration and enterprise-wide alignment
  • Review and provide feedback on team member-prepared business cases
  • Foster and provide feedback on the critical thinking skills of your team members
  • Develop and manage roadmap, balancing quick wins and platform investments for maximum impact in the least amount of time
  • Monitor and report on KPIs for opportunities to innovate and improve and provide KPI guidance for each new reporting year
  • Partner with other PDMs and cross-functional teams to maximize revenue and customer experience opportunities
  • Take part in RFPs, vendor selection, and vendor contracts
  • Partner with the Quality assurance team and User Acceptance Testers to ensure the delivered product meets the business objectives and launch criteria
  • Organize and present your team’s past, present, and future work to leadership weekly
  • Review pre/post-launch analysis to measure and report on product performance metrics
  • Be a team player and support your team members
  • Perform your job responsibilities with moderate guidance from your manager
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Academy’s policies, procedures and safety rules
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field of study or equivalent years of related work experience
  • 3 to 6+ years of Digital Product Management experience, preferably in Omnichannel, eCommerce, Order Management, or Digital
  • 1 to 4+ years of management experience (direct reports) in Product Management or digital industry
  • Able to create an entrepreneurial environment for your team members; champions new ideas leveraging insights and metrics
  • Ability to mentor direct reports to have the confidence and knowledge to successfully own the product and deliver results
  • Able to develop other Product Managers and team members on how to deliver effective results within their team oversight
  • Able to mentor others in how to lead effectively; guide and facilitate the team to push things forward, inspire others to think bigger, and understand group dynamics to get desired results without negatively impacting relationships
  • Ability to mentor others in developing effective relationships and partnerships with internal/external business partners at all levels of the organization
  • Able to mentor team members in prioritizing technical features into the overall roadmap and how to effectively communicate prioritization logic to all stakeholders
  • Ability to keep team members organized, paying strict attention to detail, and meeting critical deadlines within a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Able to lead Projects or Product Teams in the event of the absence of a team member
  • Ability to perform job functions with moderate to minimal guidance from your manager
  • Excellent communication skills: effective at presenting, pitching, and influencing outcomes that move the business forward.
  • Passion for user-centric design; commitment to research, competitive analysis, user/stakeholder reviews, analytics, and unbiased recommendations in a highly collaborative environment; cross-functional align cross-functional teams around best practices without assistance
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize objectives
  • Deep technical understanding with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers and understand technical tradeoffs
  • Ability to resolve Production issues while prioritizing resolution (immediate Production updates, short-term fixes, and long-term fixes) without assistance and communicate to Stakeholders
  • Know how to execute; ability to stay focused and motivate others to execute as efficiently as possible; ability to decide when holding date will lead to a quality failure of the initiative and communicate to stakeholders
  • Background cross-functionally (can relate cross-functionally between design, engineering, and marketing)
  • Experience in JIRA or similar tools is preferred
  • Experience with Agile methodology and principles
  • Experience in Data analytics tools
