In February 2019, AMA National will be unveiling a new membership model with updated pricing, simplified membership types, and new technology for members. This page will be updated with more information on these changes in mid-February of 2019.  Prices for current Houston AMA members will increase by $5 annually and prices for new members will decrease for the first year, as the application/reactivation fee will be waived. Please note that due to upcoming changes to the national AMA membership program, there will be a blackout date from February 1-11, 2019 in which no membership changes can take place. How much does a membership cost?
Professional membership is $270* + local chapter dues (*Includes $30 application fee). Young professional and doctoral memberships are $120 (plus local chapter dues). Collegiate memberships for full time students are $50 (plus collegiate chapter dues).

The cost for chapter dues for the Houston chapter is $55.

Please note: prices are current as of July 1, 2017 and are set to change starting in mid-February of 2019. If you would like to join before prices increase, please do so no later than January 30, 2018.

How do I join?
You can join online or call the National AMA at 800.AMA.1150.

Can I join only the local chapter?
No. You must be a member of the national organization in order to become a member of the local chapter.

Does AMA offer group memberships?

Can I transfer my membership to a colleague?
No. AMA memberships are held by an individual and are non-transferable.

Can I transfer my AMA membership from one local chapter to another?
Yes. Contact AMA Customer Service at 1-800-262-1150 and tell them the chapter to which you are transferring.

Can I get a copy of the membership directory?
All members receive access to the national membership directory when they join.

How do I change my badge or membership contact information?
Changes to your contact information (e.g. company, title, address, e-mail address, etc.) can be made in three ways.

  1. Log onto the AMA national website to make changes on-line.

Does the Houston chapter have a job bank?
Yes! Our job referral newsletter lists open positions in the Houston area. Companies may post open positions for a small fee. Anyone can sign up to receive the newsletter. If you are a new member, or have recently submitted contact information changes, we maybe waiting to receive your updated information from nationals. Recently expired memberships are removed from the roster.
