If you have taken advantage of the many luncheons, happy hours or professional development events hosted by AMA Houston, then it’s safe to say you know all about the perks of being an active member. Halie Dittemore, Director of Volunteers for AMA, shares some of her takeaways of the benefits of volunteering. “Our chapter is pretty one of a kind. There are so many different people a part of AMA. I’ve met people in the construction industry all the way to publishing. It’s exciting to belong to a group of individuals with such differing opinions and backgrounds. ” Event registration volunteer, Chris Proulx, notes his own advantages of volunteering. “You get to attend remarkable events, gain knowledge, and keep up with the trends going on in the marketplace, all for free.” With the amount of diversity, and potential to attend events at no cost, the opportunities to learn and gain fresh perspectives as an AMA volunteer are endless.
