We are currently seeking to hire an Assistant Director, Marketing and Communications. In this role, you will serve as a leader within the department. You will design and produce key publications and oversee general marketing of programs and services. The expected hiring salary range is between $50,000 to $55,000 annually, contingent upon qualifications and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the development of the digital communication and brand strategy for all Recreation Center programs and areas
  • Write, design, and coordinate the production of digital communication and marketing materials
  • Recommend and implement integrated communications and marketing plans to meet objectives
  • Build and maintain a digital community through social media channels, blogs, and the web
  • Oversee the design and development of graphics and web pages
  • Draft and curate digital content used to engage constituents and grow channels
  • Implement social listening efforts and reports back to management
  • Provide customer service to constituents across digital channels
  • Represent the organization to constituents
  • Compile data, analyze, and report metrics
  • Assist with inbound and outbound marketing activities such as event planning, advertising, and content development
  • Maintains current knowledge of the university, its environment, purpose, and affairs, and be prepared to respond to appropriate issues
  • Develop effective working relationships and positively influence and motivate staff
  • Maintain supplies and equipment inventory and make necessary purchases
  • Anticipate and identify issues and areas of improvement and produce viable and logical solutions
  • Utilize strategic planning, conceptualization, critical thinking, independent judgment, problem solving, creativity, initiative, vision, and innovation to ensure quality in all areas of responsibility
  • Write proposals, prepare presentations, negotiate contracts, serve on committees, coordinate special events and projects, conduct research, and represent the division at conferences
  • Manage present and future products by determining and evaluating current and future trends
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree is preferred)
  • One or more years of proven experience in a graphic design and/or marketing position (three years is preferred)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Familiar with technology, social platforms, current and future trends
  • Organized and creative
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take direction and work to meet expected deadlines and schedules
  • Demonstrated team player
