Saint John Vianney Catholic Church is currently seeking to hire a Communications Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in all parish communications and graphic design.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage website design, content, and administration
- Oversight of web plugin and other web service updates, dues, and subscription renewals, troubleshooting and maintenance
- Install regular content updates, event calendar updates and revision of content input from other departments with bulletin coordination
- Graphic design and image editing for the website
- Build website forms and set up online payments for registration for programs or events, as needed
- Bulletin design, creation, editing and production – all aspects of the weekly bulletin from creation to execution
- Create and schedule content and images for parish digital displays on campus
- Create, schedule and post images and graphics for social media
- Assist with effective communications with parishioners utilizing email, website, texting, etc.
- Provide staff assistance with SmugMug photo albums, videos, and other digital media
- Assist in updating the parish news blog
- Assist in sending weekly parish-wide email
- Coordinate promotional and marketing strategies and branding with ministry departments
- Develop, create, edit, and produce the Parish Annual Report and Departmental Ministry Directory
- Coordinate and assist with emergency communications
- Other duties as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3+ years in a related field
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe InDesign as well as MS Office Suite including Teams and Outlook 365
- Experience includes a working knowledge of social media such as Facebook and Instagram to optimize communication within the parish community
- Excellent writing/editing/grammar and verbal communication skills with experience in website design and maintenance
- Detail oriented
- Understand branding and communication strategy to promote the activities and events within the church
- Clear understanding of acceptable business practices, professionalism as well as conceptualizing administrative work as a ministry
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field
