We are currently seeking to hire a Senior Communications Specialist to join our team at the Sugar Land campus. In this role, you will work independently, as part of a team, or closely with senior leaders to strategically develop, implement, and assess corporate communications programs, projects, and activities. You will act as an advisor to senior leaders and a variety of internal stakeholders to clearly define needs, audiences, and key messages, as well as advise on appropriate timing, channels, and tone while proactively identifying and mitigating potential issues or challenges. You will be trusted to manage and disseminate highly confidential, operational, and cultural messaging with professionalism, candor, and humility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage and consult with internal stakeholders to identify communications needs and recommend appropriate messaging, channels, and scheduling
  • Design, write, and implement communications plans for various internal projects and initiatives
  • Participate on project teams as a Communications representative providing counsel and expertise as required
  • Lead the strategy, content development, and dissemination of our bi-weekly global newsletter
  • Draft compelling content to inform and inspire audiences (news articles, organizational announcements, videos, etc.)
  • Manage content for digital platforms including our intranet and digital signage
  • Act as a brand ambassador by actively championing our tone of voice and ensuring brand compliance throughout all communications and channels, and where appropriate, coach and guide others within ChampionX
  • Support broad email distribution and list management, including sensitive and confidential information
  • Manage analytics and metrics reports and suggest/make adjustments based on the data to improve processes, tools, and engagement
  • Lead and support in the planning and execution of employee events

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations
  • 3-5 years of related professional experience
  • Creative, thoughtful, and confident writer. You can find stories in interesting and unexpected places
  • Ability to interview and partner with subject matter experts to distill information and deliver high-quality communications products
  • Able to work both as a member of teams on small, medium, and large projects, as well as independently with minimal supervision, is vital
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Associated Press Style
  • Ability to hold sensitive company and employee information confidential
  • Excellent time management, forward planning, and multi-tasking skills with strong attention to detail
  • Highly effective verbal skills and a client-focused mindset
  • Exceptional ability to listen, understand communications needs, and disseminate information appropriately to a wide range of stakeholders and audiences
  • Fast learner, resourceful, love of learning and a willingness to take initiative
  • Confident advisor with the ability to influence others
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn other programs
  • Basic graphic design skills with Photoshop or InDesign considered an asset but is not necessary
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and in-depth understanding of tools such as SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite (Forms, Teams, Stream, etc.)
